That's also way higher than our normal humidity in the 90s as well, here. Our 90 F normally isn't like a Florida 90 F.
August is pretty oppressive here! Definitely my least favorite month of the year. Normally, though, we at least have an afternoon T-storm to roll in and cool us off slightly. There have been isolated storms popping up here and there over the last several days, but they keep missing me (and my garden)!
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Hot here, but nothing like NoLa. Zero rain, had to put 3” of city water in my pool last night. College kid and roomie came today. I was canning cukes.

Hot. Like a furnace. Humid. Heat of 95*F. Heat index was at least 105 degrees F. Same or worse expected for tomorrow.

4 days of triple digits coming -- 107 on Thursday! Think I'll take a little mini-break and do some in-house stuff.

We had light rain...seasonable, 80s

80 DEGREES AT 6:20AM! Never, in the 7 years we've been back here, do I remember a nighttime low within 7 degrees of this. Gotta go do my chores NOW while I can still breathe out there.
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
On this date in 2014, October-like temps in Vermont! It was only in the 50s in broad daylight outside of Springfield! And the folk I was with, did the ALS ice bucket challenge, while I was waiting for him in his 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0, LOL.
It was in the Chester-Andover area. Just seeing him doing that, made me imagine being cold!

That sounds downright refreshing to me today! Still HOT here! 94° and feeling like 102°. At least the humidity is far lower today than the past couple of days.RJARPCGP wrote:It was in the Chester-Andover area. Just seeing him doing that, made me imagine being cold!

Seasonal here, I think, 80s for highs...high 60s for lows. Gonna get much warmer in the next week...

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
We're finally getting summer! August is definitely making up for our mild July. The gardens are holding their own, but not producing anything but asparagus beans and kale (they laugh at hot weather).
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
July was the hottest month on record, worldwide -- wreaking havoc in Alaska -- but it was the mildest July, here, that I ever remember. Go figure.
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Had the strongest T-storm in a while:

Awesome, RJ! It's so hot and dry here, I really enjoyed that video. We have limited bandwidth, so I couldn't watch the whole thing, but what I saw was great.
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Sounds like you only got a cell plan and that's why you couldn't even finish it. Even Comcast don't have quotas like that!countrynaturals wrote:Awesome, RJ! Even better, I have FTTH from a local telephone company. So I'm not even close to maxing my stuff out at 1080p.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Finally got some much needed rain this evening. Wasn't much -- about 1/4" -- but, every little bit helps when it is as dry as it has been.

Hot and so humid! I'm sitting in the back yard in the shade and the sweat is dripping down into my eyes as I type. No meadow mowing for me today.

We're in the high-70's to low-80's for the next week. Very comfortable. Now, if we had a little rain....

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Looks like possibly a 2014-like setup unfolding! If this is true for the upcoming September monthly precipitation tally, if exactly the same type of thing as in 2014, then there will be less than 1-inch of rain for downtown and possibly North Springfield as well.
And also, be on the lookout for October-like temps on August 25 and August 26!

Heads up! Temps possibly dropping to the 30s on Monday morning and Tuesday morning!
