Well, forewarned is forearmed. I think I will order another 2 tons of pellets and get the snow blower tuned up in a few weeks.

Re: Weather
Torrential downpours expected tomorrow.
Winter project: design tomato plant cozies. Perhaps make them with the light green garden fabric. It does let some water in, but it doesn't weigh the plant down and it's breathable. I'll just slip them over and remove after storm.

Re: Weather
Strange... NOAA long-term forecast says colder & drier for SE. The others say colder & wetter. Sigh... I hate cold.
But on the good side, Mike (DH) is talking about putting together a plant starter rack w/ grow lights so we can get a really early start next spring! Woo-Hoo. I've got an awesome guy!

Re: Weather
I put a lot of stock in NOAA forecasts. Their models are quite reliable, but of course not perfect.

Marie, I feel dumb asking, but I keep seeing "DH" all over the internet. What does that mean? My guess is "dear husband."AtlantaMarie wrote:Strange... NOAA long-term forecast says colder & drier for SE. The others say colder & wetter. Sigh... I hate cold.

Oh, and yes, you do have an awesome guy. His plans to prepare for next season sound great.

I find and follow a lot of non-governmental, non-media, type meteorologists local to my region on twitter. I find I get more thorough information from them than from any website.

Thanks, Herblover, for telling Windmere what "DH" is. Didn't see his post till just now.
Yes, Windmere, I'm very blessed to have him!!! The plant rack will even be on wheels so I can put it outside when the weather's nice & I'm hardening off.
Camp - I know, I know! But every time I start to build a little trust, they totally screw it up again! And I'll have you know that this was the 25th anniversary of my 26th birthday this year, thank you very much!
(Oh, I really like the avatar too, Camp, even though every time zombies get mentioned around here, I usually roll my eyes...!)
