20 Deg here in S/W Illinois this morning and a light snow. Pulled the rest of my Turnips yesterday and my sweet potatoes last week. Getting ready to hunker down for the winter.

17°F this morning here in SW Ohio, with snow forecast for Tuesday. The hard freeze took care of anything that was left in the gardens. All of the flower beds are mulched with shredded leaves. Have some rhubarb I want to transplant into their new fire ring raised beds, but they haven't gone totally dormant yet. About as ready for winter as we can get.

PEPPERS-CARROTS AND BEETS.
Well, believe it or not, some of my "Red lunchbox" peppers survived 20 degs and a light snow. Some of them were a little iffy but a lot of them are actually still very firm.
My Yellow "Lunchbox" peppers actually did better than these red ones. I can't post pics of the yellow ones because..... We ATE'em ALL...
I don't know what happened to me this year but I just got LAZY and didn't cover my hoops with plastic but my Carrots and Beets are still in good shape also.. "Thank you Lord".
The rest of my garden is pretty much gone for the winter.. So SAD.

We are really getting into some very cold arctic air here in Ottawa Canada. High temperature on Wednesday will be -5C (23F) and overnight -13C (9F). It's shaping up to be a very long Winter.

An ice storm overnight coated everything with about 1/2" of ice, and it broke one of our White Birch Trees. Now, on top of the ice, it is snowing...

I hate that, OG, when ice does that to the trees. Cold here. Super cold.

It was supposed to get down to freezing last night but that did not occur because my tomatoes are still growing.
