Hot again, today...now downpour! I put my seedlings under my table, didn’t want them beaten down.

I think someone posted it under the "CA Drought" topic some time ago. I saved it.
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
We are having some great weather right now with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the 70s F and going to 85F by midweek. The only downside is that is still gets quite cool overnight with a low of 46F expected tomorrow night. But overall, much better that what we had last year at the end of Spring and beginning of summer. I'll take it.

It's raining here in Central Oregon.
A cold front from the Gulf of Alaska (unseasonal) has arrived. There may be snow in the mountains, with daily high temps 10-20F below normal.

Predicting big storm moving through my area shortly. 60 mph winds, hail and heavy rains.
Of course it would rain today. I WATERED yesterday.

How's the Weather Where You're At?
Well! Today We're getting a little break there calling for a high of 94* with sun not to bad, We just ended a week of 100* Plus and my garden is hurting, It's been three weeks with out rain, my rain barrels are good for about two weeks so I'm using city water. But what the heck it's been a real good season before I know it I'll be planting the Fall - Winter garden.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
After a dry May with about 5mm of rain instead of the usual 60mm here in the British Columbia southern Interior, we now have a little rain and it should last for a couple od days to give our gardens some much need relief.
It gives me a break from watering my neighbour's flower pots, she will be away for a couple of months and possibly four months.
I managed to mow my grass in time. Already there were a couple of browned areas.
Usually in the hottests months I raise the mower blade to their highest setting; I should have started in May instead of July.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
This morning it was 3C with an expected high of 14C.
Needless to say I'm not a happy camper.
Summer is almost here and I don't have anything in the ground because I still have to contend with bloody frost advisories and *actual* frost!
It's MID JUNE!!

We've had almost a month of near perfect weather for growing powdery mildew, aphids and local garden sampling fauna families.

NSR, I've inly been able to grow aphids. But soon I will be able to expand out to red spider mites, powdery mildew and if I'm really successful, a small plague of grasshoppers!No_Such_Reality wrote:We've had almost a month of near perfect weather for growing powdery mildew, aphids and local garden sampling fauna families.
Swamp, it sounds like you could use a greenhouse?
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
I'm extremely successful growing weeds and rocks! Sometimes aphids, as well.
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?

thanks for the California picture Sanderson. Gotta have some laughs. We have been having a little rain almost every day. I love seeing it rain and sunshine at the same time.

My crop of slugs is doing great... several different varieties. It's sooo wet some of the slugs have grown protective spiraling covers to protect them from more rain.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Right now it is too hot to work in the garden unless you can find some shade.
The temps are climbing to the mid-thirties but in a while there will some shade where the compost is and I can continue sifting and preparing the new spots.
Lately we have had intermittent downpours and in minutes from the sun shining, one can get soaked to the skin. Very localized clouds that have a very visible line on the ground between wet and dry. It keeps us on our toes, especially we who walk most places.

Visiting our daughter and family in Southern Ontario. The high temperature today was 93F and with the humidity it felt like 104F.
