I'm in too. And I'd like to share in the cost of the seed from LeFee, if it arrives.

I'm in too.
I will be planting Nantes 4/15, I already have some domestic from Territorial Seeds. Hoping I'm going to be able to score some seeds from the batch LaFee sends.
Whoever receives the French seeds, PLEASE put me on the list. I would be glad to share in the expense.
Hubby is building a high tower for my carrots, may make it 1 ft by 4 ft, so I can compare the two Nantes, and the Deep Purple carrots I am picking up next week from Territorial Seed Co.

If You CARROT all for SFG...
I just checked my personal seed bank and I've already got a pack of Nantes Coreless, so I'm in, too!
April 15th should be around the time that all this Falcon Colt snow will have melted here. Sorry, but I just had to put my Cards into the Pack!

Are French radishes better with red or white wine?

White, with a dash of creme de cassis (a Kir)
we eat radishes sliced thin and laid on top of a piece of fresh bread slathered with good butter. YUM.

Nah...bread from any of the 7 (SEVEN!) bakeries within walking distance, still warm from their ovens, and butter from Normandy with little flecks of sea salt through it.

I *love* baking bread, and am pretty good at it, but boy, it's hard to work up the desire to do it when there's so much available, and for cheap!

Re: If You CARROT all for SFG...
I have a bread machine that mixes the dough, we pull it out, divide it into halves and make one round loaf for tearing off and one regular loaf. Sometimes I'll add cheddar and Jalapenos for a change, sometimes we will braid it. Oh, and I've turned the bread making over to my 12yo daughter, so now all I have to do is ask her to make bread......
Re: If You CARROT all for SFG...
Well, I don't have nantes carrots, but I've got winter carrot and paris market, so I decided to compete with you guys and see what happens.

Zephyros, if you shop at Lidl, they've had Nantes seed in the store.

I've already to many carrot seeds, so I think it is better not to try another type aswell. I have to eat them myself. I've never seen that they are also selling seeds at Lidl

I'm with you there, Zephyros -- I'm looking at the stack of packets I have, wondering what I'm going to do with all of them.

So maybe we can challenge them in that case, to compete with our carrots, LaFee. I say that my carrots are better then theirs.

Sorry, I have my Nantes from last year that did very well (even if I got impatient and pulled them when they were still pretty small)....but yes, it will be interesting to see if Europe zone 8 does any different than US zone 8!

I would say yes. UK is an island which make the weather quit different. Even when you visit the islands north of our country, the weather is quit different from the rest of the netherlands. But who knows.

Re: If You CARROT all for SFG...
Just when I think I've ordered all the seeds I need, I found Camprn's Vegetable Varieties post on the Cornell website's list of vegetables varieties. There I saw another Nantes carrot variety I didn't know I needed: Nantes Fancy. Because my two granddaughters' favorite book for years was Fancy Nancy, I had to get the Nantes Fancy. They'll love it. I found the seeds semi-local, Siskiyou Seeds in Southern Oregon. I shall plant both varieties (YaYa and Fancy) on April 15. AND, the Cornell site will get lots of use! Nonna
