What do you think about this carrot, it is seed from a 14 inch world record size carrot. Do you think it will get to be 14 inch? Here is a photo of it now, I have it planted in a 14 inch high rise.

Hi Josh! Wow! I'm new at this and haven't grown any carrots. I'd bet that it will be pretty huge! Keep us posted!!

Re: what do you think of this carrot?
It certainly looks like it is trying to get to 14 inches and MM gives it a better than even chance.
Re: what do you think of this carrot?
Wow! When did you sow it Josh? I feel very inferior right now so I am hoping the answer is a long time ago

I'm not going to show your picture to my horse Libby!! She loves carrots, and I think this one is going to be a big one!!

Re: what do you think of this carrot?
Icemaiden I planted the seeds around the last of March, the regular carrots you can't even see the carrot on them, just some leaves, and I planted them at the same time. I don't know how big it will get,but it will be fun to see. I'll keep everyone posted!
Re: what do you think of this carrot?
I bet yours will be bigger than 14 inches if you are growing it in Mel's Mix!
Can't wait to hear the results!

Re: what do you think of this carrot?
The seeds you sent my son have sprouted beautifully! He loves going out there and checking on his carrots and the radishes I planted along with them. I'll let you know how they do.
Re: what do you think of this carrot?
Ok, I was about to freak OUT, and rip all my carrots out, since the radishes just didn't do anythng. I can't see squat on my carrots, and the greenery isn't that vigorous either. That's ONE AMAZING looking carrot so far. I bet it'd be tastey right now. Can it taste good if it's sooooo big?? LOLOL

Don't despair on the carrots.
I planted some Mokum carrots on May 5th in my community garden and this is what I have so far....
url=https://servimg.com/view/15016226/135][/url]
The row on the left was planted May 5th and its just starting to show greenery in my Maine community garden. The middle row planted 6/7 and the right row on 6/17 with Napoli seed and not even showing anything yet. I notice the warmer the weather the sooner the germinatation.
In my home SFG they are a bit bigger but I planted on April 24th.
I find that my carrots take quite a bit of time to germinate.
