Nibbling on some fresh bok choy and sipping on some coffee, and ya know, oddly enough it's not a bad combination...really Very Happy

I also ate a white radish that lite me up like Christmas! Man, I must of gotten some really old seed. Things are like munching horseradish root cyclops

We're expecting hot weather so this morning I harvested a bunch of head of different lettuces and a ton of cooking greens like kale, swiss chard, spinach, cabbage, and beet greens, as well as some radishes and garlic chives. Instead of my usual colander for harvesting, I had to use this bucket:

Strawberries and sugar snap peas seem to be finished now. Guess I'll be taking out the peas today and put in some more pole beans. Is it OK to plant beans where peas were?

We're eating peas, lettuce, cilantro, and basil right now and the kohlrabi looks ready. The bush beans, tomato, pepper, cuc and zuc are starting to form their offerings so it won't be long!

Green beans, broccoli all together with some plain old butter, salt and pepper. A complete meal in itself.

Picked lots of beans. Froze some and when I get tired of picking them I have 4 kids who would love to have them. When all else may fail in a garden one can count on the beans to flourish.

Tasted like a bit of heaven.

For supper I had stuffed cabbage and Brussels sprouts leaves. Stuffing included rice and a little beef with chopped carrots, onions and dill from the garden. The sauce made from last years frozen tomatoes.... They were, oh so Y U M!! Very Happy

Lettuce and radishes for salad with purchased avocado; snow peas steamed with garlic scapes, dressed in olive oil and garlic/parsley salt; new potatoes steamed and browned in butter/olive oil; served with commercial grilled meat. Tasty. Nonna

some cut up beef.....a can of diced tomato & some celery from the frig....it was YUMMY!....

our five year old said....

*mommy whats the white things in the soup?*.......

knowing how he doesnt like to eat potatoes unless its a fast food french fry..... Razz

i said.... *why whats wrong?*....

he said.... *these white chunks are so yummy!* Shocked Shocked ....

i said.... *they are the taters you just dug up from the garden*.....

he was surprised as well that he loved them so much..... cyclops

so...that just proves that even a five year old can tell the difference from a store bought potato that sits in storage for over 10 months before it even gets to the store....to a fresh from the ground home grown tater! Laughing

Rose - Fantastic looking soup! So glad your son has found a new appreciation for taters! clap

CC - Great crop of carrots and radishes! I love munching on those crunchy veggies. What are you eating from your garden today? - Page 21 998388915

Like most of the country the heat has kept growth in the garden stifled, but I was able to grab a few strawberries for our waffles this morning - Yum!

I was also able to harvest a few more sweet banana peppers, and finally had enough with the ones I picked last week, to can my first ever jar of pickled sweet banana peppers! Can't wait to get into these in a few weeks. hungry
