Windy, but surprisingly cool enough at 82*F to get some work done in the garden. Tomorrow will also be decent at only 88*F, so I will get some more clean up done.

Finally getting a few really nice sunny and warm days.  High today 73F then 84F tomorrow.  Not roasting hot but I will take it after the long hard winter and horrible spring. My garden is way behind.

But not this much rain.  We have had 4.5 inches down here since Friday morning. They are projecting at least another inch over the next two days.  We need to send more of it up to you.  Pinkeye Purple Hull peas transplanted Sat morning are swimming.

The Swiss Chard and Curly Kale are loving this cool weather. The Tomatoes and Peppers, not so much.  In the 40's at night, and the 60's during the day. Still getting daily rain - just of a quarter inch last night.  But, enjoying the spring salads nonetheless.

Rained 7 inches in the last week.  Had to harvest the potatoes because I was worried they would rot.  But they were pretty much finished growing and tops were dying down.

Rain finally stopped. Gorgeous & breezy. Afternoon temps are in the upper 70's, I think... Very unexpected for June. And I'm not arguing at ALL, lol!

Wind gusts up to 50 mph last night were very destructive on the gardens. Two winter squash that had grown over the sides of the bed were ripped apart, and very little is left of them - I will replant them. Three bell peppers that were on the side of the bed receiving the brunt of the storm were broken off about half way up the stalk - fortunately, they will be able to sprout new stems where the leaves branch out just below the break. Fortunately, the tomatoes were spared by being inside their cages. I had just picked the lettuce and chard yesterday afternoon, so they were spared any significant damage.  The storm brought in a cold front that took the temp down to 40ºF, but it is supposed to warm up again today.

It's more than damp , more than drizzling , more than rain , more than .. gosh this is getting boring it's been  Pi**ing it down , now reduced to a persistent heavy drizzle , very sticky & humid too . . There hasn't been a day without heavy rain for at least three weeks in this part of Wales .

3 foot of flood water on the east coast of Lincolnshire near Wainfleet when  a river bank burst in the middle of nowhere  .  600 people  rescued so far from their homes  more than a months rain in 12 hrs expected in the area today
RAF with chinooks called in to fly in loads of 3x 1 ton builders bags of sand & gravel to try and reduce the water flow in the breech . So far over 300 tonnes put in place , every body keeping their fingers cross it holds and it does not drop the expected rain this afternoon/tonight
Better weather appears to be forecast from Thursday onwards .

My garlics have gone rusty on the leaves ..hope it does not affect their storage when they are harvested at the end of July .

So sorry plantoid...we are beyond soggy here as well...farmers are hosed.  Thank God for the raised beds, otherwise there would literally be nothing.  It just keeps raining....

Still raining...

Windy, but otherwise perfect. It was cool enough to garden all morning and again this evening. This weather should hold for over a week (with a couple of hot days thrown in.)

Not only the First Day of Summer, but the first day without rain for 10 days!  High in the mid-70's, and sunny. A beautiful day!   But, rain is to return tomorrow and the next 5 days. If it weren't for the raised beds, we wouldn't have a garden this year.

Yuk! I don't remember that much rain even when we lived in Oregon. Sad

It looks like our nice weather is going to hold all the way to the end of the month. I should be able to get everything done before the inevitable heat of July, Aug, & Sep. Tomorrow is supposed to be hot, so I'll take that as my day off for this week. Rolling Eyes
