Re: Look what we picked :)
Those are gorgeous Sanderson. I may have to experiment with the butternut next year. I can't remember if those are the winter squash that don't get attacked by the Squash Vine Borer.

That's what I've read over here, at least. Butternut and patty pan, supposedly because they both have solid stems.

Thanks all. I have PM but the non-fat milk solution seems to keep it in check. I don't think the SVB is prevalent in the Western US.

SG and sanderson, your harvests make me want to pack up my trowels and go home. Wow! So nice. I'm excited because I saw a few silks on the corn this morning, so there is hope for me yet.

Re: Look what we picked :)
Lyndeeloo, I know how you feel. Keep the faith! I lost 2 rounds of tomato plants from curly leaf, 11 plants from seeds and 10 store bought plants. The first round of SQ corn shed pollen before the ear silks appeared and the second round was chomped to death by my cat (best grass she's ever had). Spider mites killed or maimed the pole beans before I realized what was happening. Now the green cabbage worm is attacking the Purple Podded. Such a learning curve. I'm still in Kindergarten.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. It can be such an enormous challenge to keep what we plant.

FF, If you are referring to the trombocino squash, those are So. Gardener. Mine are the winter squashes. We thank you either way!
