source for chemical-free lanscape fabric
Hello! My husband and I are putting in square foot gardening beds this fall. We would like to layer cardboard and landscape fabric in the whole area where the beds will be. Do you have any suggestions for chemical-free landscape fabric that will last? Thank you!

Re: source for chemical-free lanscape fabric
Welcome to the forums from Ohio! Not sure there is such a thing a "chemical free" landscape fabric, since all of them sold in the big box or nursery stores are made of Polypropylene.
I put heavy cardboard down under the raised beds to smother weeds, grass, etc., and have not had anything grow up through the beds in the years the beds have been in use. But, of course, if there are tenacious shrubs or trees in the area they must dug out first as they will persist through anything that is put down over them.

Thank you! This is helpful as we get things started! We wanted to make sure that we weren't putting down anything that would leach harmful chemicals into our food. We will try the cardboard and go from there. Thank you again!
