thankyou sanderson. I think we got the Silver Queen at Home Depot or Lowes. Can't wait for the others to ripen! I think one or two more will be ready in the next couple of days !

anyone picking corn yet?? I was looking at these pics, and it was in July when we got ours last year, I think it's going to be earlier this year.  LOTS of ears out there! At what stage the the kernels fill up? Looks like they're pollinated, but they're still small.  Silk is drying a bit on some of them...........

Ate one the other day, all the kernels were pollinated, but they were small and not sweet yet, but the silk was still sort of sticky too..............I guess it's hurry up and wait?? Look what we picked :) - Page 2 950477  Look what we picked :) - Page 2 950477

LM, you have no idea how that warms my heart. I seriously have the best husband in the world. I have some physical issues that prevent me from doing what I want, and he's always there for me Smile We are not rich for sure, but we have so much Smile Thank you for the quote!!  Here are some berries we just picked  for lunch; this is pretty much what we get each day. Planted these last April I believe it was...wishing our garden would never end!!

That's one of the things I really like about learning to cook. It can let you eat so well regardless of whether you spend a lot of money on food, effectively raising your living standard, sometimes far above your income level. Even a pauper can feel like a prince at dinner if he knows how to cook.

SG -- Awe, You're very welcome, it's really nice to share things on this forum.  Gardening does so much good in many ways.  okay
Enjoy those Gorgeous strawberries.  I have maybe one more serving left in the freezer.  Really must expand my beds next year for more strawberries, I can't get enough of them.

Butternut 1 lb 10.9 oz. and 2 lb 11.4 oz.  Baby Green Hubbard 1 lb 5.3 oz and 2 lb 11.4 oz.  Spaghetti squash 3 lb 3.3 oz.  They have covered their seed costs.  Anything else will be a bonus.

Great looking harvests ya'll.  Isn't it a wonderful feeling to finally get some good pickins after all the work that goes into gardening.  Some failures but enough successes to keep us coming back to the garden.

Never eaten Hubbard. I just planted different winter squashes to see what did the best in this climate.
