Pea and Bean help

Hey Everyone!

It has a been a little while since I have been here, but it is always good to come back and look around and see what everyone is up to.

I am having some issues with peas and beans. Something is eating the ends of my pea plants and my beans just look sick. The came up quickly, but have stalled after prodicing only about two handfulls of bean.

We had a severe moth infestation for a couple of months and I controlled the catepillars with BT.

In addition, everything in the garden simply seems to be growing VERY slowly. Cabbage, broccolli, onions and nasturum (sp?). I live in north central Florida and the weather has been warm.

Hi--I'm no expert, but the stuff on the beans looks like some kind of mildew, maybe--and the peas look like a critter of the 4-legged and furry kind could have stopped by for a snack. Do you get deer in your yard?

As far as the slow growth, could the warm temps account for it? How warm are we talking about? Some of those plants like it cool.

I agree with the previous post, but I also have a question... Are you irrigating?

I live in a neighborhood, but I guess there could be a deer. I would have guessed they/it would have eaten the entire plant. If it continues I will pay more attention to any possible tracks.

Here in my part of Florida it has been in the low 60's at night and upper 70's to low 80's during the day. Over the past couple of days those have dropped about ten degrees on each end.

As far as irrigating I use an oscillating sprinkler... I understand that isn't the recommended method, but here in Florida I just could not keep up. In addition, Due to potential disease, I can't keep standing (buckets) water. Soaker hoses are an option I guess.
