Re: Bean diseases
Thanks Camprn - that was an excellent PDF on Bean Diseases. I have saved it and hope I never have to use it. Wish it had more discussion of control of the various diseases (ie fungicides etc) but this should help to identify the disease. They did give a lot of control information about good practices, rotation, etc.

Re: Bean diseases
Something new this year. White freckles. I looked in the link posted above but didn't see it. The beans are fine.
Re: Bean diseases
That looks like insect damage. Spider mite probably.

Re: Bean diseases
I used the insect loupe and couldn't see any. But it is getting that time of year! I'll go ahead and treat as-though.
Re: Bean diseases
Also looks similar to some powdery mildew I saw last year on my tomatoes. It was very destructive to everything it came into contact with, even the weeds. The yellow/brown spots were the first thing I saw, then the leaves started getting some grayish-white dusty substance all over them - hence the term "powdery mildew" I suppose. Are beans susceptible to that? I used copper fungicide to control it.
Update: I happened to see campern's link to the bean diseases pdf, and I probably should have looked at that before posting. Beans can get powdery mildew, but it has a different appearance on bean plants apparently. I defer to those with more expertise!
