My wife, daughter and I all looked at this. We think they look fantastic. We'd love to try one, and we suspect we'd instantly get addicted. The scalping thing? Well, not so cool. Supply and demand in action.

Well we have over 80 peas that have sprouted so think I will be have plenty here soon. tongue And still waiting for the last 48 to sprout. When I decided to plant peas I think I was over excited about them.

Talk about lazy, I was too lazy to add to the comment when it was fresher!

Mschaef and brainchasm I think you two will also have to come over and plant and grow my peas for me!

Camprn beautiful pictures! Funny how in the winter I am so looking forward to warmer weather. The warmer weather gets here and I don't want to be sweating and those winter pictures look so inviting, at least for about a minute of being in it.

Post  Triciasgarden 6/8/2013, 11:12 am

Two of my granddaughters (9 and 12 yrs old) by my daughter's remarriage spent the night. We spent time in my garden yesterday spreading straw in my broccoli bed. I dropped a bundle on the ground outside the bed and earwigs went running. Arghhh!. We killed all earwigs that we could see, took the straw out of the bed and soaked it in buckets of water and reapplied to the beds. Around 8 p.m. last night we went out to see if there were any earwigs under the straw in the beds and there were. I think we introduced them into the beds with the first application and they went hiding. We put some of the soaked straw in another bed and no earwigs. So before I put any mulch back in that bed, I have to make sure I get the earwigs gone or they will set up a breeding frenzy like last year. Can't things just be simple!

Anyway, we dug out one of my old sfg beds and broke up clods (yes that was the old way of doing things) and had so much fun talking and making up silly names for each other. They seemed to enjoy working in the garden and it was great fun to have them there. It sure makes the work go faster and tons more fun!

I have three compost piles, one is so close to being done I can envision it! My goal is to switch all of my beds out to the newer way of MM, but I am waiting. I have been trying to find compost commercially that would work, but honestly I am not happy with any of it. Garden centers talk it up but I can see it is not anything close to what I am making.

Anyway, my granddaughters and I had a great time and they are such fun!

And you have to wear goggles so you don't end up with a mound of dirt in your eyes and this is the day you were putting up shade cloth and trellises and it is being blown into the next county. The plants you were working with/on are threatening to join the shade cloth, even though they are anchored into the soil! Good luck Rooster!

YES! I have to wear my motorcycle goggles or my eyes tear up and I can't see what I'm doing...and I have to see in order to know that the tarp containing the MM ingredients about to be mixed is folded over the mound, so I run around looking for rocks for anchors but end up having to use my 2 shoes that I'd kicked off earlier, and they get folded in the tarp and buried under the MM that's rolling onto the grass coz the wind caught the tarp just as I got the rolling momentum going...blah blah blah...thank goodness that's over....until I forget and the next new box bug bites. cutesie

Probably for the same reason that when I have everything planned out to spend Jackson's naptime working in the garage, he won't go down for a nap.

For sure Gwennifer! If you were waiting for his nap to be over, he would sleep for three hours!

One thing that has me stumped, when did you turn 100 years old and how can you have a little one (at that age) to put down for a nap so you can go clean out the garage, lol!

I remember when my kids were that age and attempting to get things done while they napped! Now on the days I watch my grandkids, I sure look forward to those nap times.
