Re: Anyone here on the Front Range in CO?
Welcome Melodiesue I'm live in Loveland, but my work is based in Ft Collins, so I'm there daily. I've got a bunch of colored carrot seed (and others too ) if you would like join in on the Carrot Week fun with us! https://squarefoot.forumotion.com/t14487-carrot-week-2013#149119
Boz, that goes for you as well! I've got lots of seeds and I can email either/both of you my list if you'd like to possibly do some sharing or if you would just be interested in something I have. Let me know

Melodiesue wrote:I have finally decided to raise my gardening to a whole new level...my deck, to keep from competing with the voracious deer in my back yard. They will have to learn to climb steps to get to the goods and as a bonus, am adding castors to my boxes in order to rescue from hail under the eaves of my porch.

colorful carrots
PRETTY!! They'd be a hit at a potluck. I have an amazing recipe "Julio's carrots" for sliced carrots in vinegar with jalapenos. Sure send me your seed list. I am on my way to Gulley this morning.
I will send a PM with my email address.

Re: Anyone here on the Front Range in CO?
I am also in front range - Lakewood. First year for SFG, liking it a lot and plan on going from beds to boxes. Will also use some of the existing bed soil, as have been enhancing over the years, hard to let go there...
Also plan on doing some 2x12 boxes for along side a 6-foot chain link fence, that is planned for next garden season.
Had some trouble getting the tomato plants to set, but read about "the Pollinators" use of a middle-C tuning fork. Tried that and actually saw pollen coming loose from the vibration. That was pretty cool to see and do have some cherry tomatoes that set in the past 90+ degree weather. Makes me a believer when these are not setting. Hopefully some of the bigger tomatoes will set also.
