Hi from Melbourne, Australia
Hi everyone.
I'm in the middle of trying to source materials for the box and what goes in it.
Also realising I can probably have more crops than I realised. (We don't have much frost - seems to be ony 3 months of year - and no frozen ground like some people might have).
Cheers,
Malcolm

Re: Hi from Melbourne, Australia
Malcolm. I noticed in another post you had mentioned you already have the All New Square Foot Gardening Book. Good for You!
Hope you find your matierials and have your SFG up and running soon. I guess in Australia, you are starting your summer garden with warm weather crops now. We in the US are very jealous. Our cold winter has hit with a vengeance in many areas, so many of us are just dreaming of what we want to plant for this coming Spring.
Please, if you have questions, feel free to ask. If you have answers, experience or a comment on a topic, feel free to chime in.
Again,

Re: Hi from Melbourne, Australia
Thanks
Should to have quite a few tomatoes this year, but hopefully it will be the last year with stakes. Yes I think I'll make a frame for next year - and for the beans and peas too.

welcome
Welcome, Malcolm. It's great to have another member from Australia.
I second what Furbalsmom said. We'd love to see some summer photos of your garden.

Hi Malcolm:
Let me add my welcome.

Let me add my welcome.

I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle

Howdy Malcolm:
There are two listings in this forums international vermiculite database for those who garden "downunder" . Check to see if one is near you. Also if you find vermiculite location that is not listed please add that location to the international DB.

Hi WardinWake
Actually I found and added the second one on the list just yesterday, while waiting for an email reply from another one which I've just added now. Thanks for the pointers anyway, I'm sure others will benefit. The initial one from Queensland is just a wee bit too far away, so I did a bit of searching myself. These last two are probably just 30 minutes drive.
So my ideas are starting to come together - should have at least two by Spring - maybe one already for autumn(fall)/winter crops.
Photos coming of my tomatoes - maybe when some of them are red.
