Re: Senseless Banter...
To change the pace from all those snow pics I cant contribute to here is some Cajun humor:
Three Cajuns were working up on a cell phone tower: Boudreaux, Thidodaux and Robichaux.
As they start their descent, Boudreaux slips, falls off the tower and is DRT (Dead Right There).
As the ambulance takes the body away, Thibodaux says, 'Well, someone should go and tell Marie . Robichaux says, 'OK, I'm pretty good at dat sensitive stuff, I'll do it me.'
Two hours later, he comes back carrying a case of Budweiser.
Thibodaux says, 'Where did you get dat beer, you?"'
'Marie gave it to me,' Thibodaux replies.
'That's unbelievable, you told Marie , Boudreaux was dead and she gave you beer?'
Well, not exactly', Thibodaux says, 'When she answered the door, I said to her, "you must be Boudreaux's widow".'
She said, 'You must be mistaken you, I'm not a widow.'
Den I said 'I'll bet you a case of Budweiser you are.'
Cajuns are good at dat sensitive stuff.

Take it.
Yogi Berra had a bunch of Yogisms
“It ain’t over ’til it’s over”
“It’s deja vu all over again”
“When you come to a fork in the road … take it”
“I usually take a two hour nap from one to four”
“Never answer an anonymous letter”
“I didn’t really say everything I said”
“I want to thank you for making this day necessary”
“We made too many wrong mistakes”
“You can observe a lot by watching”
“The future ain’t what it used to be”
“It gets late early out here”
“If the world were perfect, it wouldn’t be”
“If the people don’t want to come out to the ballpark,
nobody’s going to stop them”
“Pair up in threes”
“Why buy good luggage, you only use it when you travel”

Mrs TD and I took in some of Ottawa's Winterlude festival on a beautiful, sunny and mild winter's day and the year of Canada's 150th birthday.

I love the ice sculptures! If I had to give an award, it would be the turkey with all the fragile-looking feathers. But, they are all beautiful.

Re: Senseless Banter...
Changing the subject to something totally different. Has anyone tried a low card high fat diet? Not sure I could do it to the max but I have started to cut out high carb items and sugars and I've added in more fats. So for the past week it has been out with with breads, pastries, cereals, milk chocolate ( ), candies, reduced fat milk, margarine, etc. and in with the eggs, bacon, butter, 35% whipping cream, leafy veggies, etc. Already lost 4 pounds by doing that. I have a long way to go to get my BMI out of the overweight category and into the normal range but I doubt that will happen.

Re: Senseless Banter...
TD,
In my experience, low-carb, high-protein diets generally are beneficial. However, I'd cut back a bit on the fat For example, one doesn't need whipping cream, except possibly for certain recipes or special occasions.
For a while, you might want to eat more low-carb veggies, minimizing corn, beets, peas, potatoes, etc.
From what I understand, a BIT of dark chocolate every now and then may be beneficial.
