Monthly Avatar Theme July 2013: First Tomatoes of the Season!
Going with Capecoddess' avatar theme idea for the month of July. First maters of the season!
Display those first maters
Mine are still pretty little, but the Gilbertie's I got from camprn, are starting to come around! I'm pretty excited to try out these tomatoes

Most of my tomatoes are ripening right now, but I went back and found an early picture I made so I will go with it.

Mmm...that's so purdy. My red & pink Brandywines are still in the flowers-falling-off-the-vine stage. I will be ecstatic if I get one like yours!

This is my first real harvest. I had already been picking a few of the Green Zebra Cherries, but here I have several varieties. My favorite way to eat them right now is sliced, on toasted sour dough bread, with some butter and insanely aged white cheddar (15 years). YUMSTERS!

We have another Flash Flood Watch in effect. I have lost track of how many we have had the past 4 months.boffer wrote:

Speaking of rain, here in central Ohio the local t.v. weatherman said it has rained some part of Every Day here for the past 18 days.

You could send some of that water to California. What the heck, we'll take all of it. We can always share with the other drought states. Our water is metered, now.
But, seriously, you guys have got to be sick of the rain and the flooding it causes.

Thank you Camprn and Rooster. Yup, new avatar up and running! Now that I've figured out how to put in the new avatar, I'll be changing it often.

Because everything in the garden is so delayed this year I'm pulling mine from my archives.
