Hello everyone South Alabama here
Hey Everyone,
I am new to gardening and new to this area. We just moved a couple of months ago. So far all that I have going on is some air plants and a couple of ferns. We have pecan and pear trees in our yard that I hope will bring some nuts/fruit this year. I am looking forward to reading everyone's posts and learning.

Welcome to the forum,
Even better than reading this forum is to read and learn a solid background in square foot gardening. It's an easy, friendly reading book too. Hope you have a copy! You will refer to it often and avoid repeated questions on the forum that are already answered in the book, All New Square Foot Gardening. The 2nd edition came out earlier this year. If you can only find the 2006 edition, you can't go wrong there either.
Again, welcome and enjoy the forum!

Welcome LGT. You are actually better prepared to learn square foot gardening than someone who has done conventional gardening. You won't have any preconceived ideas of how gardening should be done. Llama momma makes a very good suggestion about getting the book. There is a lot to learn but it is fun!

LGT . I am just up the road from you in Columbus. Lots of great folks and info on this site.
Here is a link that will get you started on what to plant and when. Find yourself on the map then click on that area's name on the right then click on the month to see results.
