Re: Hello from Alabama !!!
Hi 1Loboblonde! Welcome from Atlanta, GA! We're glad y'all are joining us!!
You said that y'all've (YES, it's a word! You just gotta be Southern!) read the "first book" on SFG. Is that the one from when Mel started SFG? If so, I've got a REALLY pleasant surprise for you: It's become MUCH easier over the years!!
If you haven't read it yet, please check your local library or favorite book store for a copy of the All New Square Foot Garden, 2nd Edition. It's the most updated.
You'll find lots of nice folks here who want to help y'all succeed. And there's a tremendous amount of information in the archives...
Looking forward to hearing about your garden and plans!

Re: Hello from Alabama !!!
Welcome from Ohio, loloblonde! I agree with AM, you should read the ANSFG 2nd Ed. Before you start to build anything! Mel simplified and perfected the whole process, but the original is still a good read!
Are you new to gardening? Or are you converting from traditional open ground methods? Can't wait to hear from you as you embark on your SFG journey!

Re: Hello from Alabama !!!
Blonde, Welcome to the Forum from California! Ditto to what the others have said, be sure to read the All New SFG book. So much easier than the original method. Two things, take photos of your journey and keep a notebook. We love photos and the notebook is great to read during the winter: what worked, what didn't, when you planted this and that, etc.
