Serious Downsizing in Progress
I'm very happy I found this site. Two years ago we moved from a rural setting, 2 acres, to the 'burbs. I miss my my 40 X 60 garden and all of the free compost from the local farms. My garden area is now 16 X 12 and all of the advice I have been reading will be a real help.
One thing I tried this year was a potato tower. It has grown tremendously, hoping for a decent yield, and will start a thread once I get my pictures organized.
Glad to be here.

Re: Serious Downsizing in Progress
Welcome, and happy to have you here, smalltownfan.
We look forward to following your progress in downsizing and we just love pictures.
How many useable squares are you able to get from your 16 x 12? it will take some planning to get the maximum square footage.
I hope you have plenty of sun; that is what I am missing from my garden as it is northern aspect and too many trees.

Welcome to square foot gardening! Are you going to use Mel's mix? That will help you get maximum results in your smaller space! If you haven't read the All New Square Foot Gardening book yet I would highly recommend it! It is a great easy read with all the details of how to get 100% of the produce in 20% of the space!
