Ciao from St. Louis!
Hi there! What a wonderful forum!! I am brand new to gardening, although I have watched my mother's exciting journey with square foot gardening over the last couple years. Many of you on the site probably know my mother as llama momma. I have just recently purchased Mel's book and am absorbing it as quickly as I can in the hopes that I can get a box or two ready for fall gardening. I look forward to getting to know everyone and learning to overcome my greatest fear when it comes to gardening: bugs

Re: Ciao from St. Louis!
You will do well with your garden! I used to be scared of spiders and other bugs. By working in the garden and understanding that most bugs are good bugs, they barely bother me. I had some black and red bugs that I almost killed one day without thinking. Then I remembered someone saying the same thing that they almost killed a bug without thinking and researched the bug and found the bug was a good bug and had a bunch of their babies on its back. My bug I almost killed was a good bug and every year when I see them I cheer them on!
Good luck with your many many years of gardening!

Welcome to the forum! You made me giggle because your mom doesn't like the bugs either! Good luck, keep us posted!

Welcome to the forum and to SFG. You have plenty of time to get ready for fall planting. I'm looking forward to broccoli and cauliflower, myself.

Haha, that would be my incredibly spoiled, hairy child named Harmon (JAG reference) We think he's some sort of mix between a pomeranian and a cavalier. We adopted him from a rescue last year and he's been my little shadow ever since!

Aww, thank you!! We will see how much of a help he is this week when my brother-in-law delivers the wood and chicken wire for my new SFG boxes!! I have to watch him pretty closely in the yard though, as he tries to make friends with anyone who passes our house, .
