I have wanted to have a SFG for years but I never had a place to do it. I finally bought a house last year and I grew grape tomatoes in flower boxes and cucumbers and peppers in 12" clay pots. There wasn't enough time to build a raised bed last year but my plants did great anyway. I just built a 4' x 8' x 6" raised bed today out of plastic deck boards and stainless steel screws that I got at Lowes. The boards are guaranteed for 25 years and they will never rot. Also they were not much more than cedar boards. I can't wait to plant my seeds. I know they will do great in my SFG.

Do you have the ANSFG book or are you going off of the old book or PBS series? ALL NEW Square Foot Gardening has several advancements making it even easier. If you do not have it, GET IT! If you do have it, YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY!!!
