Anyone in the DFW area up for a SFG meet and greet? Very Happy

Here's the deal, I'm working toward my SFG Teacher Certification. One of the requirements is that I submit a short video of me "teaching" SFG to others. For that I need an audience and my family and neighbors have heard me talk about SFG for some time now so they're not that willing. (Guess I scared them when I insisted they smell my Mel's Mix. Was that wrong?) Thus, I've invited some friends from a local sustainable gardening group that I meet with occasionally and I thought I'd throw it open to anyone in the Forum who lives in the area as well.

Here's the plan. We'd meet at my place in Frisco, Texas on Saturday, April 17 from 10-11 AM. I'll talk about the basics of SFG for 20-30 minutes then we can head to the backyard and look at my SFG and do a Q&A. You'll be done in an hour, get to see another SFG, and have the rest of your Saturday to play in your own garden.

If you're just starting out and want to see an SFG that is already up and running, or lurking in the forum but are afraid to post, or are a SFG veteran and want to meet some other local SFG'ers, or you simply want more information about SFG before taking the plunge, come and join me.

Those that are interested, please send me a PM and I'll send you my address.

Thanks! Very Happy

Have much interest expressed in this so far? I may be up for it, the busy week ahead will dictate availability though

As long as I can bring a friend, I'll be there. I don't want to drive by myself. I'm a chicken when it comes to driving where I'm not familiar. SFG talk in DFW Icon_redface
It sounds like fun! I hope I can make it.

At this point I'm expecting somewhere between 5-7 people, but more are welcome. Please come if you can and bring a friend if you want. Those of you who already SFG can at least meet others "in the flesh" and see a SFG besides your own. Very Happy

Sounds good... I am interested, so if you could put me down as a tentative, that would be good. Will know my schedule better later in the week Laughing

Yeah, wish I'd seen this sooner! Any chance of a recap?

And I work until noon almost all Saturdays, could we do a session a bit later?

I'm jealous -- it's only a 4 hour drive for me, so next time make it mid-day and I just might be able to get there. Now, Tim, a blow by blow of the event, please. SFG talk in DFW Icon_biggrin

For those that missed, here's a recap...
MikeN from Allen was the only who showed up. He hasn't yet built his SFG so we went to the backyard and talked about my set up for over an hour. Then he went home. That was it.

Perhaps we could give it another try in the future IF there is sufficient interest. Would be nice to meet other SFG'ers.
