V-8 or vegetable juice recipe?
Does anyone have a recipe which approaches commercial V-8? I would love to make my own.

I have one I make called v-10. It knocks the socks off of v-8. The recipe is on page 3 of the thread that camp linked. It packs a punch!

What started this was that I pulled a fresh bottle of V-8 out of the fridge for lunch today. I love it, but don't buy it often because of the price. Even though our kitchen counter does not have the room, come harvest time I can see us making up batches of vegetable juice and freezing them. This would also make good vegetable stock for soups and stews.

The juicer thread does have some pretty good information. I would just make sure it's something you're going to be into before dropping lots of green backs on a juicer. Some people also find they aren't into the fresh vegetable juices. I like and enjoy the juice, but for me it was a novelty that wore off quickly Others are totally into it! And it is good for you.

I also love V-8 - as a matter of fact, instead of dinner tonight, I coulda had a V-8!
My mother used to use V-8 as a base for chili - pretty yummy!

I bet it would make a great chili Martha !! My wife makes some kind of weight watchers veggie soup with v-8 that is pretty darn tasty too!

could happen....let's see, lobster bisque? N'Orleans (no, really!) style gumbo? Cream of wild mushroom? Curried coconut milk soup with mussels? Crab and corn chowder?

Let's see, then how about Thai pizza, with homemade (of course) flatbread, peanut sauce, and topped with al dente broccoli, zucchini, red and yellow bell peppers, onions and tomatoes. Being a bad chef's wife, I was scared of pizza with peanut butter, but it was o-my-God good!
