Hubby helped me today with stapling the twine so now I am ready to plant. Unfortunately, it makes it REALLY obvious how off-square the beds are! (We didn't build them, they came with the house!) I am chomping at the bits to put the peas in but I think it's a tad early just yet, even though it has been such a warm season.

Of course, if you have extra pea seeds, you could plant them just for the sake of getting something in the ground....

(oh, I am such a bad influence!) But seriously, this is the hardest time, when it is so close, but not yet.....

(and decidedly closer for you than me, but I'm already chomping at the bit!)

You guys are SOOOO right. If it hadn't snowed here the other day I think I would have been tempted to start something.

I'm just a bit south of you and I planted peas about 15 Feb and 15 Mar last year. They all came up, but both sets started bearing peas at the same time. Very Happy . But if the weather stays warm for the next 3 weeks, I'm gonna do it again.Grid is in! 1280598131

Martha, I grew up in Dudley, so I'm more familiar with YOUR planting times than my current ones!

Kay, I'll be planting right with you if the weather stays warm (hopefully not as rainy)!

I planted a number of cool season items last week... I don't see the harm, worst that happens is that I have to replant if they are damaged in a freeze

I took a chance. Planted 3 squares of sugar snaps today.

And a few buttercrunch seeds.

I planted Tom Thumb and Little Gem lettuce in a container on the deck a few days ago... sprouting already. My garden soil temp is almost 50, so I'll be putting in some peas in the next few days (probably on Monday, the kids are off school and they like to help when they can.)

I soaked my peas on Thurs night the put them in a Ziploc yesterday with a damp paper towel. This morning, they were sprouting... so I *HAD* to plant them :-)
