I want to buy a pressure canner but I don't have $200 to spend. I don't need a great big one or have a glass top range. Any suggestions? I looked on amazon but I am still stumped.

I don't see why you would need to spend a whole lot if you just want a small canner. Here's one I found on Amazon for $75. Smaller ones are even less.

I bought a large canner a few years ago (this 22 quart monster) and I've been sorry ever since. It's too big for me! I'll never need a canner that huge. I don't know what I was thinking. So I really think it's better to start small. Even a small pressure cooker would work for pint or half pint jars. Just make sure the jars sitting on a rack will fit in the pressure cooker properly. I bought my canner at my local hardware store, but I've seen them in Walmart and Kitchen Collection store.

i just bought my Presto 23Qt pressure canner off Amazon. Create a wishlist and watch the prices everyday. they will drop the price for that day only. Mine dropped to $79,but I've seen it go lower that that. I had a $50 giftcard ready and waiting. LOL It arrived 2 days later. I love it.
