Rabbit Poo
I normally get the "leftovers" from my daughter's rabbits' litter boxes. She's always used Yesterday's News litter which is just what it sounds like, recycled newspapers. I usually compost it with my chopped up fall leaves. I know I should be able to put rabbit poo straight in my garden, but because of the leftover bits of hay and the urine mixed in, I've always composted it, and it has always made really good compost. Now, she's changed her litter to some kind of pine litter (it's cheaper). It's ground up pine and then formed into pellets. Once it's "wet", it just turns to a wet powder, so it's not chips or anything. My question is, do you think the pine would still be okay for my compost? I hope so, cause I still have alot of fall leaves needing composted, and not alot of other "green" to go with them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Denese:
The pine litter should be just fine. You can use up to 10 percent pine straw in a compost mix so the rabbit pine is no problem.
