Yes, I recognize and no, I don't have a solution. Your green beans looked exactly mine before they started to turn yellow. I have pictures in the other green been post a couple of days ago. My guess is that you didn't treat seeds with an occulent? I am thinking that is what my problem is.

Gosh. I keep learning new things. Sometimes it's after the fact, and a little frustrating, but it'll help me out for next time. Occulant. I'll have to look that up. Thanks.
In the meantime, anyone else have any suggestions on what to do?

Re: poor little sicky (green bean)
It's called inoculant. It's a natural soil bacteria that aids the growth of legumes (e.g. peas, beans, clovers). I use it for my sugar snap peas, but not for my beans. It's more of a choice, not a requirement -- especially if you have a good blend of composts in your Mel's Mix.

Are those transplants or were the leaves wet/oily during the day?
I've got a pepper that looks like that. It was sunburned.

Re: poor little sicky (green bean)
Not transplants. Hmmm, but we did have a couple of heavy rains, and maybe a couple of crazy hose sessions from the kids. Sunburn sounds like a real possibility. I just picked those leaves off today, and I'll keep an eye on them going forward.
Thanks for the help!

Me too, plus some misshapen new leaves
I had the same problem -- I have yellow beans and lima beans and they both have leaves like that. My mother thought it was a sucking insect but I found a total of two bugs under all the leaves in my garden.
The newer leaves don't have those dead looking spots but are growing in all stunted and distorted looking.
Yellow beans:
Lima beans:
Example of similar problem:
Any advice or perspective would be appreciated.

Re: poor little sicky (green bean)
I sent the pictures to my country extension agent and she agrees with me and thinks it is sun scald. Here is a link for ore info: http://www.ppdl.purdue.edu/PPDL/hot07/7-12.html .
She also thought it could be burn from foliage feeding. Are you spraying any fertilizer? If so, which one?

Re: poor little sicky (green bean)
Ah, dizzy, thanks -- sunscald for the dry looking patches. (I assume you sent jazzymaddy's pix.) And thanks for reminding me to look up my county extension. They do have a neat online questions form so I uploaded my pix w/ the distorted leaves and my question about that. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for a response! Would you say that most extension agents are familiar w/ the SFG method? I did explain the blend they are planted in.
It also looks like my yellow beans are trying to vine but they were supposedly bush bean seeds.

.
I've talked to the extension agent in 2 counties in NC and both were aware of SFG but more or less dismissed it as a serious method. For what it's worth.

Re: poor little sicky (green bean)
I did find this photo online of a virus which makes the leaves look a lot like mine in my top photo: Bean Common Mosaic Potyvirus
I really don't understand much in the agricultural fact sheets I pull up when I search on this but so far I haven't seen a way to treat it. Will be interesting to see what extension agent says.

I also sent her your last picture. I didn't not send the other two. So, your last picture is likely sun scald as well.
Most of them know it exists, but can't go much farther than that. My extension agent has read the ANSFG book, so she may be a little more familiar than most. She has a good working knowledge of raised bed/intensive gardening though. But, where disease, insect, and nutrient issues are concerned they are a fantastic resource.
