Better than Christmas
I just found mushroom compost!!! 13 yards DELIVERED for $125. No idea if that's a good price, but I'm tickled pink. (Should have said tickled brown)

compost
I got a new Mantis tiller last Christmas. I love it. It's my 2nd in many, many years. I can't live without it. It always starts on the first pull & is great.

Re: Better than Christmas
from what I've seen shroom compost goes from $30-50/yard, if you got 13 yards for $125 you really scored.

Now, Deborah, why wasn't I thinking? They say green stuff, I think plants. Money - oh yeah, now I remember!

Yep, first pull. They have 2 styles now, the 2 cycle that you mix oil with, the other is 4 cycle you don't have to mix. I stuck with the 2 cycle. If you aren't familiar with them, they don't have tines like a regular tiller, they are sharp. You can hold it in one place to dig planting holes for trees, berries. It really pulverizes the soil, so I always go through it once lightly & rescue any earthworms first because they will get chopped up.

Have you tried it for mixing up mel's mix in something like a kiddy pool or wheel barrow?

This is my first year for SFG & will be using it as soon as DH gets my boxes finished. I've used it in tight places before, it's light weight, just pick it up, set it down wherever you want it. I've got boxes at the deck that are probably 2 feet wide & I use it in there.
