waterbed heating pad for seed starting?
Does anyone know how evenly the heat is distributed in a waterbed heating pad? I have several of them kicking around and it would be sweet if I could use one of them to start seedlings. My concern would be that the heating wire inside them would be spaced apart such that the heat wouldn't be even... I have no idea how they are constructed. Any ideas?

Hey, that's a pretty creative idea! I did a quick google search and got all kinds of links for just that very thing. Here is one:

Thanks Rooster! I did a Google search, too, and found some interesting stuff... But in the end I decided just to get a regular horticulture-style heating pad. I didn't want to mess around with building anything - and I wanted it to go into the mini-greenhouse I had just finished recovering. The good news? Mission complete!!
