I love your trellises! I am using some store bought things this year because I didn't plant things in the right spots really. I am so excited you were able to do those yourself though. It gives me hope that I can rearrange for the fall and place the trellises in myself without bothering my husband with it.

Oh, and where did you get your composter? I would love to have one, and that one looks like the perfect size for my little yard. Was it expensive? or difficult to put together?

Clfraser,
I got the composter at the orange box store for $98. The guy there said I could put together by myself in about an hour and my DH did it in about 1/2 that time. Smile

Butterflie,

Composting is a little more complicated than simply throwing a few things in a pile and waiting if you want OPTIMAL results and speed. Of course, that will work and has done for years but if you really are a perfectionist as you say, then I highly recommend the Rodale book of composting. You can buy it used at Amazon for as little as 80 cents!!!

It is quite simply a phenomenal read for us garden nerds....LOL Very Happy

My SFG progress - Page 2 51jcrb10

Since buying the book, I have tweaked a few things and my pile is now a hive of activity. I love putting my hand into the middle and feeling the heat. On cooler mornings, opening up the middle and watching it steam away is a joy.

Wow great job buttaflie! Argh this makes me want to get mine done so bad! Unfortunately I have to spend any free time building an ark with all the rain we've been having here. Razz

Wow that is looking great. Great idea on the platform - I will file that one away for me next set of boxes!

And great kids! I think it's great you are introducing them to gardening (when they will pay attention ha!) - it's a great skill to learn as I am finding out now in my 30s, and kids always love to help Smile

Will be watching this one to see how it turns out, but I am expecting it to be wonderful. Good luck and kudos BF!
