sweet potato questions
Having read the information in the plants section on growing sweets I now have several resulting questions. It talks about them taking over space but do they do it below ground or do just the vines ramble everywhere. In the past several years I qrew them regularly with fine results in hills raked up almost nee high and a yard long for 4 plants. The tubers did not spread a lot but the vines went everywhere. In my SFG or a potato box could I solve the sprawling problem by using a trellis for the vines sparing every thing else nearby strangulation from them. Would a 5 gal bucket with a few drainage holes in the bottom work well enough. Would stacking two 5 gal buckets stacked and made into a wicking system work out. Has anyone else ever tried these ideas. Your help is needed and appreciated.

Re: sweet potato questions
We have a couple of threads on growing sweet potatoes. I plan to trellis mine. It appears it is the leaves and stems that ramble, not the tubers. You might get little potatoes if you allow the stem to continue rooting as it sprawls over the ground.
Lots of good info here.
