Hi All,
I found SFG through my catalog from Seed Savers Exchange yesterday.

I am beachside on the Atlantic in central Florida. We live between the ocean and the Halifax River on the sand. I am currently killing off a space of 20X25 grass. I was going to till it and build up the soil, but I found the SFG book just in time! Thank God! I have plastic spread to kill the grass and nematodes, etc. I thought I would do that in the heat and plant a Fall crop when it's ready.

Now I'm thinking I don't need to wait that long to get my beds in and begin with a few things that can take the heat.

Got any ideas for me?

Excited to have discovered this method and excited to be here.

Monica:

Welcome to the Square Foot Garden Foundation, Forum and Family.

Some fall crops can now be planted. We have planted fall squash in squares that have finished their summer crop. Check with Territorial Seed Company (also Burpies and others) and with your local Agricultural Agent and your local Master Gardeners as well. The will have area specific recommendations for you. Just know that most Ag Agents and many Master Gardeners are still died in the wool row gardeners. They are coming around though.

God Bless, Ward and Mary.
