Tiny white bugs on underside of lettuce leaves
I found these this tiny white bugs on the undersides of my dark green leaf lettuce leaves this morning. I used the water sprayer at the kitchen sink, but am wondering what I can do to kill them &/or prevent them. There are about 30-50+ on each leaf & they gross me out more than anything. A guy at the farmers' market said they might be in a larvae state right now, & turning into a flying insect? help!

Your local extension office?
Michelle,
If it were me, I'd either take a picture and email it or remove a leaf w/the bugs on it and contact the Local Extension Office. My local Extension Office responds very quickly when they receive pictures and descriptions via email. I'd say it's only about a 1 day turnaround. Or you could remove a leaf, bugs and all, put it in a Ziploc baggie and take it to them.
Not sure if that's an option for you. Or you could post a picture here on the forums and see if anyone here can help you.
Are they doing any damage? Eating holes in the leaves?
