Broken Cucumber Plant
I have a cucumber plant that was about five or six inches tall with maybe five or six leaves and a nice little curly vine on it. I was in a hurry and watered it with a hose and the stalk broke halfway up. Is it salvageable? Can I take the top part off and root it? Will the bottom stalk grow new leaves? I am SO mad at myself for trying to take a shortcut and possibly ruining one of my best looking cucumber plants!! Grr.

Re: Broken Cucumber Plant
Ouch! So sorry. I wouldnt' think the top is salvageable, but if there are a few leaves on the bottom part it will put out new suckers and grow a new plant.
To be on the safe side, you might want to stick a couple of seeds into the ground close to the injured plant in case it doesn't make it. That way you'll have back ups.
