I know it can be hard to find the 5 compost ingredients, so when I saw this I thought it was really interesting and worth sharing.

I was Whole Foods Market the other day and they were selling compost in some plain white bags. Curious, I read the label and apparently they decided to take all of the produce that they couldn't sell and send it to a composting company. After it was composted it was then bagged and sent back to the stores to be sold as compost. The bag said that it's only made up of the unsold produce from the western states, but they might have a similar thing in the stores back east.

Thanks for the heads up Kabaju! What was the pricing and volume of the green waste compost?

While trying to see if my local WF sells compost on the WF website, I read that some stores are also selling compost tea! Now to just call WF near me to see if they sell both!

I occasionally purchase a 1 cubic-foot bag of supermarket compost at a Vons/Pavillions store. It costs about $2.49 and contains three different composts. Forest, produce, and composted yard waste. It has a very fine texture.

Thanks for the heads up Kabaju42. I'll check my local Whole Foods and see if they have any.
