mustard greens
I picked most of my mustard greens today. I planted the seeds back 3/27. Just one tiny square. They were starting to bolt today.

Scratch an ounce of dried blood fish & bone meal into the soil a few inches away from the crown , taking care not to get any in the crooks of the sticks then water it in wo=ith a couple of gallons of water . You'll be amazed at how much more it will produce after you've fed it .

I don't want to say just leafy greens, but yeah, romaine and spinach (some has not bolted) and other random lettuce - oh, and the pea plants I cut down to have room to maybe grow a tiny tomato plant. Altogether way more than I've had before thanks to raised bed gardening!

For dinner we had the last Baked Butternut Squash from last year. The new plants for this year are planted on the trellis, and beginning to climb.

This morning I pulled the Crosby's Egyptian Beets to make room for some other plants. For dinner we had boiled beet root with butter and sauteed beet greens to go with our rotisserie chicken. Delicious!

Pesto made with garlic, collard and broccoli greens, and a few stalks of asparagus thrown in because there weren't enough to eat by themselves. yesterday, we ate our first asparagus beans.

Jalapenos, nadapenos, yellow bell peppers, cilantro, red onions, and the last of my tomatoes are headed into a salsa for tonight's seitan tacos.
Re: What are you eating from your garden today?
Interesting that you have both Jalapeño and Nadapeño. I bought some Nadapeño seeds from Baker Creek last year, and grew 3 of the plants. But, the peppers were so bland that I didn't care for them, and didn't plant any more this year. I did put in some extra Craig's Grande Jalapeño peppers this year, though.

Hey OG! I, too, got my nadapeños from Baker Creek. I bought them because I was looking for a pepper to add some bright/green/vegetal flavor to some recipes I'd been developing, without bringing heat and without the range of bitterness or sweetness of various bells. Was ordering my seeds for the spring/summer and thought they'd work. For me, they did not disappoint.
They're nice on the grill and to "even out" my homemade green hot sauce and green dressing.
The plants are prolific producers and I often find myself snacking on a handful of the peppers at a time.

Re: What are you eating from your garden today?
Wow. Just made snap beans with potatoes, an onion, garlic and smoked ham shanks with my Dragon Tongue beans—WONDERFUL!!!
The Dragon Tongue beans were tender and delicious, stringless, very pretty but not too beany. Cooked up yellowish. I’m not kidding; I haven’t had beans out of the garden this good ever!
I will not go without them again! (Even though I screwed up the spacing when I planted them).
Winner! Need to succession a couple squares though....all hit at once, unlike my traditional pole beans!

zone 5a. Still eating beans. Not really enough for a meal, but good for snacking. purple prince turnip within a week I would say. I may get enough peas again just to be able to say that I had fresh peas on October.
