Turan's Garden Western Mountains and Plains
Where I am in Gallatin valley of Montana, elevation 5000', this is time to plant or no garden this summer. I make my garden plan in the fall when deciding where to plant the garlic. Then I modify it all winter and spring. The garden is all planted now and here is the finished plan. I'll try to post pictures soon.

Re: Turan's Garden Western Mountains and Plains
It snowed in a lot of the valley last night. Thankfully we only had cold rain. Tonight it is supposed to frost down to 30*. There is lots of local discussion about how to cover and what to cover. I have sheets over squash and basil. It is important to keep the sheets from laying on the leaves especially if heavy and wet, I use old tomato cages laying down. Peppers are in a cold frame or Wall-o-Waters. Tomatoes, cukes and beans are in the greenhouse (old leaky greenhouse, a project for this fall). Flowering peas, heading broccoli, and root crops, I think will be ok. I will probably throw a sheet over the corn that is up. It can handle some frost as long as it doesn't hurt the growth point.
We have always had disorganized weather patterns. Chinooks in January intersperced with -30*, frost or snow in June. I swear it is getting more extreme though. It hit 90 last week.![affraid](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/affraid.gif)
