Re: Flowers that "hear"???
countrynaturals, I remember reading a study of the effects of music on plants well over 50 years ago and at that time the genre that was the clear winner was classical. That plants can hear bees doesn't surprise but what worries me is they have all day to stand around watching us and planning and who knows what they are doing under the soil. Because of this I always give my plants the best of care. Gardening can be such serious business. If anyone asks I am a non-vegan as I try to have as much of my diet as possible non-plant based except for the chocolate or vanilla that flavors my ice cream. It used to include strawberries before I became enlightened and not so neapolitan.

Re: Flowers that "hear"???
Since sound is acoustic waves (movement of air), it is not surprising that plants can feel the vibrations. But then, that is just the way us farmers turned engineers turned gardeners look at things.... And, our Jersey cows used to love listening to classical music while they were milked.

Re: Flowers that "hear"???
I saw a tv show a few years back with a couple of folks raising mj. The plants not only loved classical music, but preferred the female caretaker over the male. If she wasn't in for a couple of days, they saw a significant difference in the plants....

Just the opposite in our household. If I talk to the houseplants and stroke their leaves, they purr and start sending up new shoots, but if my wife touches them the leaves start turning yellow or brown...
