Yep! 13 carrots out of 216 planted last year. This year only 150 planted, may get 6! Bad pack of seeds. Will order new packs for next year...

THE POWER OF BELIEVING IN ONE'S FRIENDS
A contestant, Sally, on 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?' had reached the final plateau. If she answered the next question correctly, she would win $1,000,000. If she answered incorrectly, she would pocket only the $25,000 milestone money. And as she suspected it would be, the million-dollar question was no pushover.
It was, 'Which of the following species of birds does not build its own nest but instead lays its eggs in the nests of other birds?
Is it:
A) the condor
B) the buzzard
C) the cuckoo
D) the vulture
The woman was on the spot. She did not know the answer. She had used up her 50/50 Lifeline and her Ask the Audience Lifeline. All that remained was her Phone-a-Friend Lifeline. She hoped she would not have to use it because her friend was, well, blonde. But she had no alternative.
She called her friend and gave her the question and the four choices.
The blonde responded unhesitatingly: 'That's easy. The answer is C: the cuckoo.'
The contestant had to make a decision and make it fast. She considered employing a reverse strategy and giving Meredith any answer except the one that her friend had given her. And considering her friend was a blonde that would seem to be the logical thing to do.
But her friend had responded with such confidence, such certitude, that the contestant could not help but be convinced.
'I need an answer,' said Meredith.
Crossing her fingers, the contestant said, 'C: The cuckoo.'
'Is that your final answer?'
'Yes, that is my final answer.'
And Meredith replied, 'That answer is... absolutely correct ! You are now a millionaire!'
Three days later, the contestant hosted a party for her family and friends, including the blonde who had helped her win the million dollars.
'Joni, I just do not know how to thank you,' said the contestant. 'How did you happen to know the right answer?'
'Oh, come on,' said the blonde. 'Everybody knows that cuckoos don't build nests. They live in clocks.'
Well, it made me laugh.

How to have your coffee and eat it too.
This aint exactly gardening so take it off if ya wanna I'll understand. Me and my buddy spent the day by his smoke house next to hos garden. Along with 70LBS of wild hog sausage we tried an experiment here is the story with a couple crazy Cajun guys in the video.

Oooowwweeeee! I'd be making myself sick on that sausage..... AFTER I tried some of your chicken & chops!
Re: Senseless Banter...
Sam made the sausage for a customer. The guy dropped off a boar and Sam cut it with 50 percent domestic pork seasoned it stuffed it and smoked it then sold it back to the guy for 2.60/lb. Cost Sam right at 1$ a lb to make counting all the seeasoning and meat and smoking material and Gas for the smoker and we always have room for something to eat while he does it and the profits is his beer and play money. Not a bad deal for him since he loves doing it anyways its kind of like gardening a hobby he enjoys. He also has a big garden.

I did it. It's a good book (well I thought so, just personal opinion) all the way to the end. . .

Re: Senseless Banter...
Sanderson, I watched Supergirl last night, too.
But went to bed when the ridgie-heads showed up figuring it was a half hour show and would be over in a few minutes.
Is that when it ended....or did I miss a bunch?

Re: Senseless Banter...
It was a 1 1/2 hour show. I won't tell you everything that happened in case you watch it on your computer. She did have a tussle with one of the ridge heads.
Re: Senseless Banter...
I am now officially ALIVE again. A couple of months ago my English pension (which is half my income as Canada is the other half, having worked twenty years in each country) was denied me as they said they had not received the paperwork they sent me, which was called a Life Certificate so that they could continue sending me my monthly pension.
I know that I sent it as I had to get my doctor's signature, etc. etc. but they said they had not received it. Must say I felt a bit sick as in spite of all the years I have worked, I was never very successful financially and only have the two half-pensions to live.
Luckily I had color-copied every thing I had sent them the first time so immediately copied those again and sent it with a post office tracking note to make sure they got it in England. It has still taken another month to process my claim but yesterday , after faxing them, they told me that they had received it and my Life Certificate had been approved.
That was a relief. I know that this is not "Banter", just felt I had to let it out, but I feel so happy once again after worrying about it for a couple of months.
