It is so cold up there Camprn's weather footer on her tag line said:
Currently - NA*F unknown
I guess it is too cold to register or maybe the weather station is frozen.

NA means the instruments for measuring or the connection to the National Weather Service isn't working. Lots of power outages this morning. Temp is currently about 27F.

Nice photo, camp. I love the geometric shapes. You could send that one in to NECN. I don't envy all the folks still without power though. Been there done that.
No snow here, but I haven't seen the sun in days. Thank goodness for full spectrum light bulbs and St. John's wort.
Oh, and my Eastham turnip stumpling is sprouting. Maybe by this time next year I'll have turnip seeds.
I also finally found out what kind of seaweed I've been harvesting. It's either this one in the link below or the Codium fragile - most likely a mix of both.

okay, back to soup making and catching up on season 2 of Homeland. What are you all up to today?

...(nice slippers, CC)...staying home where it's quiet, maybe sorting through seed packets to see what I want to keep/what I want to try (the first seed catalog has many earmarks already) for next year. This Thanksgiving has more of a X-Mas vibe with all the snow, so it feels like a pokey kind of weekend...soup does sound like a good idea...

Today I'm putting together a few more stained glass sun catchers and bees wax Christmas tree ornaments and getting ready for craft fair next week. Also need to rake a bit O snow off the roof. A nap will probably be in my future as well.

Re: New England, November 2014
I'm pretty sure November is Latin for: See No Sun. Just another cloudy November day, but I am EXTREMELY thankful that I'm in the 12% minority who did not lose power in this town. It looks like over 70% are still w/o power. We got 10" of snow here. I don't think this snow is going to melt all the way either, so that may put a kabosh on my garden leafing project. Oh well. To be continued next spring... Getting ready for the Fedco Tree Order! This year's contestant is CHESTNUT! Can't wait.
CC, I love seeing where your feet have been.
BTW, everyone is sick of butternut squash here.

Re: New England, November 2014
Even though I might be able to do a little seed starting this year (see my "Kinda Excited" thread), this year, not being able to garden, my catalogs are coming much earlier than normal. I have Johnny's, and today I got Seed Saver's Exchange.
Still fun reading, especially now that I have a little hope!

QB, I'm getting excited about Ray Praxxus' seed giveaway soon. Do you think he's doing it this year? It's fun!
