Bermuda Grass
I have tried the SFG method for 3 years, but I have a problem.... Bermuda grass. I cant get rid of it! I have even gone so far as to try round up. Last year I screwed plywood over th bottom of the boxes and this STILL worked its way in and took over. I am about to throw in the towel and call defeat, but if anyone has any suggestions, I will try again! Thank you!

Elevate the boxes off the ground, even a few inches will stop root infiltration.

Bermuda Grass
I fight that invasive grass......grr...grr.....I have good luck with spraying with vinegar.....topping with several layers of cardboard.....layers of newspaper....and some chips......than you can set your boxes on top.....good luck.....
I have a 60ft chain link fence at the back of my property.......with row of draught tolerent shrubs....and the neighbors grass and mine does not come up thru it all......

Bermuda is the toughest lawn, AND the toughest weed! In addition to the above suggestions, you could try heavy duty rubber lining like what is used for ponds or hand-built shower pans. I remember hours of weeding that stuff, and it seemed the red ants were always present.
