I was thrilled to be able to go outside today and pick the first radishes from my garden.

These are Cherriette and Ping Pong radishes. Ping Pongs take longer to mature, that's why they are smaller, but they are tasty nonetheless.
Having the squares in the A-frame for this early start was wonderful. I planted these seeds on March 20th and today, a little over a month later, I have fresh crops for my salad.
I would recommend an A-frame, easily made as you can see in my blog below, to get an early start and to harden off seedlings as well.

I think I'm really going to be much happier with my SFG this year.

I still haven't figured out why my radishes won't grow quickly - second year in a row!

Yours look gorgeous - enjoy!

Martha...Are you planting too deeply? I draw a line in the soil with my finger , drop seeds along the row, then cover lightly with soil and press down a bit for contact with the soil. Water with a fine mister or you might wash the seeds right out of the bed. Then keep them watered. They need to be kept moist until they germinate and then even when they pop up.

thanks, Quiltbea. They have sprouted, but I planted them April 2. Not sure when they sprouted, but it was within a week. So they should at least halfway ready - they are still little seedlings, with their first set of true leaves.
