Hello from Texas
Hi! I'm a newbie to SFG and gardening. Lots of memories with my grandma in the garden growing up and loved it, but never had one myself til now.
I have 2 2'x10'x10" beds with trellis on the north sides of the beds on the long side so that I would have plenty of trellis space. I have a bucket tree with 4 upside down buckets...3 with tomatoes and 1 with yellow squash just to try it out and see how they do. And I have a 3x3 table which holds my 2' long planter box with a jalapeno and pablano pepper, 3' long planter box with 3 jalapenos and two 5 gallon buckets with chives and green onions. And a small kiddie pool that we used to mix our MM in for our boxes and I have a few things in there that I had left over after I got everything planted.
We also have plans to add to more boxes later, including a strawberry pyramid, a trellis bench with planter boxes on the side for either vining veggies or miniature roses, and a table top setup for smaller plants and herbs so they will be easier to care for and harvest with out all the bending over to get to them. These will also have some other elevated boxes at a lower level that will be home to bush style plants and maybe some broccoli and cabbages. And we will also be adding a 2' wide box along a fence that we are putting up to separate the garden from the rest of our yard to keep our four legged kiddos out of the garden area. Not sure yet what all we will be putting in there yet, but will probably do a section with some blueberries and maybe a section for corn or okra and sunflowers, etc.
I'm really enjoying my garden and can't wait to see all the fruits of my harvest

Welcome to the forum TxGramma, you should be able to find a lot of good SFG information here. And a lot of nice people who will help with any questions you have.
Where are you in Texas. It's a big state! We're just north of the DFW airport.
Good gardening,
Gloria

TxGramma, What is a bucket tree? I'm trying to picture that one... do you have a picture of it you can post?
How are your blueberries doing? My mom has put in a number of blueberry bushes at her place up in conroe area but she said she is having a lot of problems keeping them alive.

Re: Hello from Texas
Hi Erin, I will try to get a pic of it today and post it for you but basically it is a 4x4 post with 4 two foot pieces of 2x4's nailed around the top of it to hang buckets on the we were trying some upside down plants in. I don't have blueberries in yet they are in some of our future plans. We are still working on getting the garden fence up and building some more boxes and a few other things I want to add in to the garden area. But I know a lady on the other side of town that has good success with her blueberry bushes. When I get mine in I will let you know how they do. If you post some pics of her bushes someone on here should be able to give you some ideas to help her out.

Wow TxGramma... The bucket tree sounds awesome!!! I can't wait to see the pic. I may have to try that. We bought our house last August. We have so many ideas, it's just a matter of having the money to do all the projects. We just do a little at a time.
