I'm late planting my square foot gardens this year! Is it too late to plant the following seeds: spinach, beets, raddish, lettuce, carrot, peas, dill, parsley. I don't want to waste a box, if I am too late to plant any of these seeds. Thank You!!

Not sure how long your season is, or what your summer weather is like, but I would definitely still get in some carrots, beets, dill, and parsley. The others need cool weather and/or a bit of shade. Peas are particularly sensitive to temps so you might want to wait until mid to late summer to plant them for a fall crop. Spinach, lettuce, and radishes can be done with a bit of shading by buildings or other crops. Have fun with them and let us know what you decide!

I'm north of you but I still would put in lettuce, spinach, radishes under the protection of cool-weather crops like broccs, caulis, and Brussels sprouts. The shade will help them into the warmer months. Carrots take a long time in my neck of the woods (5a) so I'd put in those as well. They'll grow faster as it warms up.

The peas are iffy at this point. Try dill and parsley if you like. I just transplanted my parsley out last week and I don't do dill these days. I just don't like it but it did great planted late spring the first time I tried it.

You can always try with anything and see what happens and learn something for next time. Each garden is different, has their own micro-climates, soil and weather that makes a difference. Good luck.

I would try everyone of those, but I expect the spinach would bolt pretty quickly. Give it a go.
