Hello, I'm New to the site.
My Name is Anastatia. I just started the Instructors course on the site. I am very excited. I grew up in a family who had a very large garden. For the most part anything that crossed our table came from us (either from the garden, fishing/hunting or canning/freezing etc). I grew up just north of Portland Oregon. I now live in the amazing town of Sonoma Ca! We Have just installed (4) 4' X 8' X 2' tall steel planter boxes. Only the top 6" is Mel's mix in 3 boxes. one box has 12" for my deep root veggies. I have some additional boxes coming.
My big picture is that I would like to work with a children's non-profit to teach them "Home Economics" skills. Cooking, baking, "square foot gardening", sewing, laundry (sorting and stain removal), how to set a table, use a napkin, how to sit at a table, what silverware to use for what...skills that have gone by the waste side or have been pushed out by budget cuts from schools and all adult family members needing to work then working 1, 2 or even 3 or more jobs to survive. I would love to be able to expand into anyone who is willing to learn new skill.
Have a blissful day!

Anastatia! Wow you sure learned a lot growing up! I think it will be wonderful for you to teach what you learned and so many people want to learn how to get back to being self sufficient! Wow, living in Sonoma, that sounds wonderful!

Welcome
Anastasia I know you will fit in just fine. You have lots of experience you can share.
I'm jealous... Sonoma is so beautiful. I am originally from Los Angeles and we used to visit Northern California in the spring. Sigh... I'm getting homesick.

Re: Hello, I'm New to the site.
I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle
