Re: Monthly Avatar Theme February: Show Yourself!
I don't recall that.......
We passed through one afternoon, stopped at Garlic world, had lunch and the photo op. At the time all I wanted was artichokes.
I am stickin' with this avatar for the month...... Like BN said, glad it's a short month.

Should have went West from Gilroy to Casterville, the artichoke capital of the world. I dearly love those thistles. Used to get them for a penny a piece.

The avatar picture is a few years old, but is pertinent~ I had just come in from a day of gardening in the wind.
This is the most recent pic I can find~ I am getting the horses ready for some visiting kids to have a lesson on. The kids parents we know from another discussion forum, so when they were traveling past we told them to stop and visit. I love the people we have met this way.

It is rare I find myself on the other side of the camera. About the only photos of me are in my primary hobby of fishing, since my drinking...ahhhh....fishing buddys are with me to capture the evidence.

Meet your PNW Regional Host...
I jumped the gun with the "Show Yourself" avatar idea with last months "Out with the Old, In with the New" theme, replacing my old pea pod picture with a new picture of me (using my webcam since like so many of you, I'm usually the one taking the pictures and couldn't find any recent photos of me). That's my youngest in my lap - destroyer of all things and the reason I'm wanting to switch to table tops this year (caught him walking on my garden soooo many times last year!).

This is such a fun theme! I find it interesting how seeing people you've only "read" can sometimes affirm or negate impressions you never even realized you had. Oh, and has anyone else been surprised at someones gender now that they've seen a pic (no need to name names)? You can't always tell by usernames!

That particular fish was landed about 150 yards out in the ocean from the actual beach. There was a sand bar we were wading to at low tide through a chest deep slough to reach. Definitely not caught bare handed but worked our butts off to get to them. We had the best fishing season anyone on the outerbanks can ever remember.Gilly21 wrote:
