Re: "Holey" Okra
I am experiencing the same thing. No sign of bugs. My holes look a little smaller than yours and more circular so it may be two differnt insects feasting on our okra. I have no idea what is going on. I did spray with insecticidal soap this morning but don't think that will help because I did not see any bugs on the plants when I sprayed.

Must be one of those invisible bugs...

That looks a lot like the damage on my potatoes from the tortoise beetles.

That is strange... My potatoes & okra are in the same box but tators are fine. The greenery is starting to die so harvest soon.

Renee- I had the same issue early on. Sprayed with malathion and had no further issue. I had noticed some small black bug, don't know the variety, on the young leaves. I have also been using neem's oil.

Holey Okra
Go to your local greenhouse or garden center and get a generic dust and apply it. I think Sevin makes a pretty broad ranged dust. Home Depot generally has a good selection too.

I feel compelled to add that if you are choosing to use a broad spectrum insecticide, the product will kill the beneficial insects as well as the problem insects.
FOLLOW THE LABEL INSTRUCTIONS.
Do not apply to blooms If you do, you will kill the bees and the other pollinators that you need to get your vegetables pollinated.

Re: "Holey" Okra
Thanks everyone! I've already put a light dusting of Sevin Dust on yesterday, and do realize it is harmful to good bugs. So I will keep an eye on them to see how it goes. If it continues I will have to try all the different suggestions.

Are you using Neem's Oil only now since the Malathion?
