Forum Issues
I have not been able to log on to the forum (I am currently out of town and using my sister's computer). When I try to log on I get the message "you are not allowed to log on this forum". This message comes up even if I try to log in using Facebook or register as if I had never been on. I will need to use my computer when I get home so I was hoping someone had a suggestion for fixing this problem. I have cleared cookies and the cache. Someone at the foundation has changed my username and password. None of this has helped.

Re: Forum Issues
beuna, I was the one who changed your username and password. Seeing as how you are able to log on now on a different computer is further proof that the issue lies with your computer at home and not a forum issue. I have given you a couple of suggestions to try to remedy the problem. Please try them.

Re: Forum Issues
I have a new forum issue, at least I think it is new. Every time I reply to a post I get an e-mail telling me that something new has been posted and I am receiving the e-mail because I am watching the thread. I have cleaned out my profile 3 times in the last 2 days making sure that I have nothing that I am watching. Then, I post a reply and suddenly I am 'watching' again! Is anyone else having this issue?

I'm not great at this but in the profile on the preferences tab have you shut off the email notification? have you cleared the forum cookies from your computer?Goosegirl wrote:I have a new forum issue, at least I think it is new. And yes, I did just get an e-mail telling me I am being notified because I am watching this thread!

Thanks Camprn! I clear my cookies every day, and have not had this issue until 2 days ago. I just checked on my profile and sure enough, it was marked YES for e-mail notification. I changed that, but it is odd that I just started having this issue a few days ago. We shall see if that fixed it.

Re: Forum Issues
I had mine marked yes for email notification but quite a few months ago it stopped and I just let it go. Without my changing anything it started up again just this last week.

Re: Forum Issues
I hadn't changed anything either - had it set for e-mail notification but had not had the flood of notices - it just suddenly started giving an e-mail every time I posted a few days ago.

Re: Forum Issues
The easiest thing anyone can do is to clear their BROWSER cache. That usually clears up most issues.
The email feature is far from perfect, and I wouldn't think most typical users would want to be notified of new posts. I'm guessing most would find it annoying after a day or two.

Re: Forum Issues
Funny to see this on here last night. I was suddenly "watching" every thread I commented on too, and receiving e-mail notifications about new posts and PM's. I often have my 13 month old in my lap with me when I'm on here and am fighting over the keyboard with him, so I had just figured he'd hit something that I needed to un-do! Anyway, it was a simple enough fix in my profile preferences. Glad to know it wasn't just me.
Re: Forum Issues
Test post to see if it is still happening. It was still happening after I changed my preferences, but I have cleared out ALL cookies, history, temp internet files, etc. Here goes!
